heading out tomorrow AM , over night in Beatty on to Parker the next day ... traveling fewer miles at a time these days ... no rush and the iron butt days are over !

wife and doggies don't like the longer drives/hours and to be honest I don't like them much either nowadays

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

What? You're not over nighting in Searchlight? We should be out on the 20th or so if the moons line up right.

what's in Searchlight that needs my $$ overnight stay ???

Beatty is a good layover about half way +/- a lil , it got reasonable priced fuel [I'll need a topper off as can't quite make it on one load and if you wait to Needles you get fully ripped off and they are about the highest priced fuel I have found ... made the mistake of waiting last year and needed a slash to get me there MISTAKE as t was like $2.00 a gallon higher that anywhere even the rip off places were embarrassed lol

traveling in direct isn't the best fuel wise but as heavy as I'm loaded it better for the truck.

Never been there. Was hoping you would tell me. When on the 40, I always go across the river to the AZ 95 off ramp for fuel at the truck stop. Nice drive down thru Havasu City with more stores than Parker, plus you follow the lake and river. When we travel from home we use the 58 to 247 to the 62. Not much traffic from Barstow to Parker, no hills of any consequence. Usually make it in 7 hrs with doggie stops and eats. I bet Beatty was a little chilly?

was cool there but not bad

Havasu City direction has way to many stop lights , and light timing is such that U stop at every one of them ... think they want U to see things and stop to spend $$

in Parker setting up for a spell , got the truck all unloaded from rich okie status that I was traveling as
they had a rain squall night before last and got 4" in 4 hours .. gully washer and much havoc , wash outs all over the place.

so when U go to Searchlight let us know if we should stop there sometime LOL

BTW DO NOT PULL off the freeway in Needles as there are very few places to turn around and many narrow streets , pulled off for some fast food , what a PIA to get back on freeway LOL
